Metabolic age calculator
Informative estimate based on non-clinical health indicators. Private calculation in your browser, no data sent to servers. Discover prioritized levers to optimize your wellness.
What metabolic age is
Metabolic age compares your health indicators with the typical values of people of your age and sex. If your resting heart rate, aerobic capacity, waist or sleep look like those of someone younger, your metabolic age comes out below your chronological age; if they look like an older person’s, above it.
It is not a single, standardised clinical measure: every scale, app or calculator uses its own method, so two different results don’t contradict each other, they measure different things. What matters is not the number in isolation but which way it moves when you change habits.
How this calculator estimates it
Age, sex, weight and height already give you a result. The more data you add, the more reliable it gets: resting heart rate, HRV, VO2max, weekly cardio minutes, reps of a functional exercise, waist circumference, body fat percentage, sleep hours and perceived fatigue.
- Each value is compared with population percentiles for your age and sex, not with a fixed threshold.
- Values are grouped into four domains: cardiovascular, physical activity, body composition and recovery.
- The whole is translated into years above or below your chronological age, with a confidence level that rises when you cover all four domains.
- A high BMI progressively limits how far the result can drop: it doesn’t block, it bounds.
- Everything runs in your browser; no data leaves your device.
What moves metabolic age
- Aerobic capacity: VO2max and weekly cardio minutes are the heaviest domain. Going from 75 to 150 minutes a week already shows.
- Functional strength: more reps of a basic exercise point to muscle mass and better insulin sensitivity.
- Waist and body fat: waist circumference weighs more than total weight.
- Recovery: 7 to 8 hours of sleep and a stable or rising HRV reflect a nervous system that rests.
- Resting heart rate: it drops with aerobic training and sleep; it is one of the first to improve.
What it is not
It is not the metabolic age of a bioimpedance scale (those estimate body fat with an electric current and compare it with tables), nor a diagnosis, nor a prediction of how long you will live. It is an educational estimate for healthy adults. If you have a diagnosed condition or take medication that affects your heart or metabolism, read the result with your doctor.
