AI nutrition coach · iOS & Android
An AI nutrition coach that knows you and texts you first
Kodi is the AI nutrition coach in Biokode, an AI health coach app for iOS and Android. You log what you eat with a photo, a voice note, text or the barcode scanner; Kodi turns it into calories, macros and 27 micronutrients, crosses it with your sleep, HRV and training, and tells you what to change tomorrow.
It is not a chatbot waiting for questions, nor a counter that only adds things up. It remembers what you tell it, opens your day in the morning and closes it at night, and adapts the plan when your data calls for it. In between, it answers when you write.
A day with Kodi
Kodi’s two daily messages and one question from you, with real data from the app:
What an AI nutrition coach is (and what it isn’t)
An AI nutrition coach is an assistant that works on your real food, weight, activity and sleep data, remembers your context and helps you reach a specific goal. It differs in two ways from the tools you already know:
- A calorie counter adds up what you log and shows you a number. It doesn’t know why you struggle to hit your protein or what to change tomorrow.
- A generic chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini) answers one-off questions well, but doesn’t know what you ate this week, what you weigh today or how you slept, and only speaks when spoken to.
- Kodi combines both: Biokode’s real log and a conversation with memory, with nutrition criteria based on public references (EFSA, WHO, ISSN, ACSM).
Real memory: you never start from zero
Kodi keeps what matters about you: your goals, your meal times, your usual dishes, the knee that can’t take impact, that you hate broccoli and that you eat out on Thursdays. Every piece of advice comes from that context, not from an answer off the internet.
Every night it goes over your whole day: gathers what it learned, connects patterns between what you eat and how you sleep or train, and wakes up with something new to tell you. The next day you don’t start over: you continue.
It opens and closes your day: two messages, not one more
In the morning Kodi writes with today’s plan, your streak and what’s worth keeping in mind. At night it closes the day with you: calories, protein and micronutrient balance, what you achieved and what’s next tomorrow.
In between there are no pings at random hours and no pressure notifications: it answers when you write, with your data in front of it. You choose the schedule and the quiet hours.
A plan that recalibrates with your data
Your calorie and macro plan starts from standard science (Mifflin-St Jeor, protein in g/kg) and then recalibrates with your real data: the app compares what you eat with how your average weight moves and estimates your real expenditure. Automatic adjustments are small and bounded; big ones you ask Kodi for.
If a week goes wrong, the plan doesn’t punish you: it works with averages, absorbs the messy week and keeps going with you.
More than food: sleep, training, mood and habits
Kodi is a nutrition coach, but it looks at the whole picture, because eating well and sleeping badly doesn’t add up:
- Nutrition: calories, macros and 27 micronutrients against EFSA reference values, logged by photo, voice, text or barcode.
- Training: strength and activity plans that fit your goal and your actual week.
- Sleep and recovery: with Apple Health or Health Connect, sleep, HRV, steps and workouts come in on their own, and Biokode looks for patterns between what you eat and how you sleep.
- Mood and energy: a one-tap log crossed with the rest to find what actually agrees with you.
- Habits: water, steps and supplements, with mini-challenges and streaks if they motivate you.
Compared with ChatGPT and other AI food coaches
Against ChatGPT, the difference is data and initiative: Kodi knows your log, your plan and your week, and opens the conversation in the morning. Against other AI food coaches, Biokode adds micronutrients against EFSA values, the sleep and HRV cross, adaptive TDEE and EU data hosting. Where other apps win (a bigger food database, for instance) we say so in the comparisons.
