Biokode compared with other apps: all comparisons, dated and sourced
Before paying for a nutrition app, almost everyone searches “X vs Y”. Here are ours, written under a rule that forces us to be fair: every comparison says where the other app wins, with verifiable facts (price, nutrients, language, data hosting) taken on a specific date and with the sources in plain sight.
If a comparison tells you Biokode is better at everything, be suspicious: we did not write it.
The comparisons
Biokode vs MyFitnessPal
The biggest database vs the coach that crosses your data
MyFitnessPal wins on catalogue (over twenty million foods), free plan and integrations. Biokode wins on micronutrients with a reference, photo and voice included, the sleep and HRV cross, the adaptive plan and data in the EU.
A coach with your data vs an assistant that knows everything
ChatGPT wins on one-off questions, breadth and price (free). Biokode wins on structured logging, a plan that recalibrates with your weight, patterns with sleep and HRV, initiative and data in the EU.
Up to 95 nutrients by hand vs 27 with a European reference and a coach
Cronometer wins on depth (amino acids, fatty acids) and on its free plan. Biokode wins on photo and voice logging included, EFSA references, the sleep and HRV cross and the adaptive plan.
The fastest photo vs the coach that does something with it
Cal AI wins on speed, price and catalogue (it uses MyFitnessPal’s database since 2026). Biokode wins on micronutrients, coach, adaptive plan, sleep and HRV, publicly measured accuracy and data in the EU.
Two AI food coaches, with different ideas of what to measure
Welling wins on Asian and international food, fine-tuned diet preferences and Garmin sync. Biokode wins on micronutrients, the sleep and HRV cross, an interface in your language and data in the EU.
Two Spanish-language AI nutrition apps, compared on facts
The comparison details where Pulso wins and where Biokode wins (micronutrients against EFSA, the sleep and HRV cross, the adaptive plan), with the verification date and the sources.
Verifiable facts only: public price, which nutrients it tracks, which languages it comes in, where it hosts data, what it integrates. No “more intuitive” or “more complete”.
Dated: every fact was taken on a specific day shown in the badge and in the closing notice. If the other app changes, the comparison can go stale, which is why we ask you to tell us.
“Where X wins” is mandatory, and never with fewer than three real points. A comparison where the other side wins nothing is not a comparison.
No stores and no ratings: they measure marketing and age, not whether the app serves you. We compare product.
With sources: official websites, US App Store listings, help centres, press releases and specialised press, cited on every page.

If you want the whole picture
The guide to the best AI nutrition coach apps puts six of them (MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, MacroFactor, Cal AI, Welling and Biokode) in the same table, with explicit criteria and each one’s limits, ours included.
Frequently asked questions
Why should I trust comparisons written by Biokode?
You should not trust them blindly; you should check. Every fact has a date and a source, and every comparison has a mandatory section on what the other app does better. If you find a mistake, write to us and we will fix it with the date of the change.
Will you compare Biokode with Yazio, Lifesum or MacroFactor?
MacroFactor already appears in the best-apps guide with its facts; a dedicated comparison, and the Yazio and Lifesum ones, will come when we have the facts verified. We never publish a comparison without them.
How often are they updated?
We review prices and features when the other app announces changes or when a reader tells us. The verification date is always on the page.
